Facebook Now Puts Limitations On Flyer Ads

Along with a horde of other people, I have recently been experimenting with Facebook flyer ads and trying to get some cheap and targeted traffic to some affiliate sites of mine. Im ashamed to say I didn’t look into it as much as I had originally planned, as it seems the party is over and I missed it.

There is a great post by uberaffiliate.com’s Paul over at Shoemoney’s blog and it outlines just how he used his original system to make about $10,000/day in affiliate sales. More than anything, I take this as a lesson to jump on ideas you have quickly because I really did see potential in the cheap PPC. It’s also a lesson to be learned if you have it really good, don’t go tell the world about it, as pointed out by Paul at the end of the article.

There are now a number of limitations placed on Facebook ads including pulling dupe ads, removing the feature that allowed you erase and start new flyers immediately, and even blocking some suspected duplicate users and reportedly blocking some certain popular keywords like “ringtones”. It could be to cut out all the avalanche of affiliates bidding on ringtone ads. From a business perspective, however, it’s a no brainer for Facebook to also advertise what is clearly the highest converting for their demographic as well as sell private ads - and at the end of the day, it’s their site and will do with it as they please.
